Guest guest
Carol Oh...... I'm really sorry that you never got to see the end product. Hugz............Helen Actually, the law requires it! In my case I never did get to enjoy the fruits of my labour because they dragged it over 2 years and by the time they realized they had to do it I had deteriorated physically to the point where my Docs strongly suggested that I retire. What a pain! However, yes they would have had to do it.

Guest guest
Tape a kidney bean to the inside of your right wrist, three finger width's below the crease of your wrist. You have found one of the most powerful sleep-promoting points in Oriental medicine..It really work's!!! Shirley This came from Dr. s periodical. Re: Carol Carol... You mention sleeping is not so great yet and that you are already feeling that a late dose of thyroid might be what you need... I'd like to share something that really made a big difference for me. I had insomnia for YEARS. I tried everything. Melatonin, helped.... sleep schedules (set bed time, set waking time) helped... but I was still spending a lot of nights watching moon glow work across the ceiling and then the sun come up. NOT good. I started on OTC thyroid in July of '02 after several years on little or no meds at all, before they I was on synthetics. I adjusted amounts and times I took my thyroid several times until I finally got it to where I think it's just about right. I split my 2 grain tabs into quarters and take one quarter the minute my eyes open in the morning, I keep the chip in a bottle cap on my night stand so I can just reach in the dark and drop it under my tongue. I also take a quarter tab as I crawl into bed at night..... letting it dissolve under my tongue as I fall asleep... My other quarter tabs I take evenly throughout the day. I fall asleep easily in about 30 minutes instead of the two hours that it used to be. I sleep through the night (unless it's too hot or the household is noisy) and wake up at my regular time without an alarm. I'm also taking selenium to aid in conversion of T4 to T3 and an adrenal supplement that allows my adrenals to rest and heal. I read the most amazing thing about fatigued adrenals... How they are all tuckered out and have trouble producing hormone and when we wake in the morning and they get the first call to produce they just can't.. they struggle all day long to meet our needs and finally shoot it out late at night... after working all day at it... now our bodies have this shot late in the day and are all revved up and can't go to sleep. Then we get up the next day all tired and worn out from not having gotten a good sleep and out goes the call to the adrenals to get hormone into our system to get us up and at 'em for the day and the cycle starts all over again.. the poor tuckered out adrenals struggle all day to meet the demand and finally manage to get that shot out as we are supposed to be winding down for the day. I take and OTC natural desiccated Adrenal hormone.. I quarter the tabs and take one just after breakfast... and then every three hours until they're used up for that day. I believe what this is doing for me is allowing my adrenals to not have to struggle to produce hormone in the mornings on a daily basis. The supplements I take cover for them. Over the months that I've been doing this my adrenals have had some time to do some healing and recovery. How do I know this? When something happens that should get me mad or excited. I get mad, I can yell and holler and do something. I can get excited, I can get up out of the chair and scramble for a video tape to tape this great show, or get giggly and silly over guests that come to the door. Or get a mop to clean up the jelly jar that just dropped... I dont' go sit in a corner and cry because I know I should feel and react but can't so I just cried. Take note, though, starting on an adrenal supplement has to be done slowly. When I first started I took too much at first and got to feeling so much better in my head with greater feeling of energy and better mood and all that I over did the physical activity for my poor body... I ended up wearing myself out physically to the point where I had muscle failure and would fall down. Some things to ponder as you work with fine tuning your own schedule..... Guest guest
> BTW, I got that history from the files of the other > thyroid group. Boy oh boy, when I asked for information about you, did I EVER get it!!! haha. What an INTERESTING story, even if it has been a hard one for you!! Amazing. You really meant it when you said lifelong. So the bottom line is that you are still on your journey to optimizing. I am very excited for you, as nothing but positives are headed your way, I suspect. Armour and the adrenal supplement plus the others will ultimately make you a MUCH healthier person as it allows you to heal. And by way, anyone who can remember ALL that detail doesn't have brain fog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing. And I am amazed that with all that misery you have gone through your entire life, that you could still be such a sweet person instead of a major female dog!! Janie, grin p.s. You need to post a pic of yourself in our photos section, if that's comfortable for you!! You'll see others.
