What a great idea! I'll throw in my positive post!

I don't know anyone locally with thyca and we don't have a local support group -

I needed support from someone who could relate. I " met " a wonderful e-pal

through a thyroid support forum and we have helped each other every step of the

way. We're no longer on that list, but formed a wonderful friendship. We still

talk thyca, but also now catch up on what's happening with our families, funny

stories, etc.

She will never know how much her support and friendship has meant to me! I know

we'll meet in person some day.

If I had to think of the one thing that has helped me the most through this, I

would have to say this wonderful friendship.

Thanks Kim for your positive post. I can relate to your comment about

rolling over in bed and signing on to this email group, etc.

And that gave me a thought...

How about declaring this " POSITIVE POSTING DAY " here on our list

group.

And to celebrate this, would you all be so kind as a post one (or

more than one if you like) positive thing that has helped you along

your thyca journey? Or maybe one thing that you're grateful for? Or

whatever positive inspired thing you wish to share today?

Let's get a nice long thread of positive postings going today and see

where it leads us, shall we?

I know that I certainly could use a nice positive boost right now as

I'm descending into hypo hell (day 3) and trying desperately not to

let the fear and fatigue overtake me.

So, I'll start the Positive Posting thread by adding to Kim's

inspiring message with an excerpt from a poem someone copied and gave

me whenever I was recovering from my tt.

Oh, one other little thing I want to say first. I think I remember

reading that one of the list rules deals with not discussing religion

and I do not intend to break any rules. So, with that in mind, here's

my positive posting:

BE AT PEACE

" Do not fear what may happen tomorrow: The same everlasting Father

Who cares for you today will take care of you then and every day.

He will either shield you from suffering

Or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. "

Some positives out of my thyca experience (more practical than

spiritual):

Because of being on the LID, I learned how to make home-made tortillas

(using non-iodized salt) and love them

Because of being on the LID, I learned how to make home-made pita bread

and love it

I now work only part-time which is what I needed to do for a long time

but never had the reason or courage to leave my full-time job
