Guest guest
Ang...I am going to join you in that goal! Night eating while I write is a huge problem for me, especially if I start to get very tired but want to stay awake. No eating after 11pm...I am there right along with you. Guest guest
One of the big problems for me 2 years ago was that the only adult interaction I got was at night. I would be very tired after parenting and homeschooling six children all day as well as taking care of our zoo (3 dogs, a cat, a rabbit,13 birds). The ex would always run out for snackfood and we would pig out. One day I got serious about my health, started going to the gym every day and eating healthy and I just quit eating after dinner. My tummy quickly realized it was going to be FASTING from dinner til BREAK FAST (get it?) and it stopped whining and grumbling about it. I've never even THOUGHT about eating after dinner since and I never do. It's not hard to quit that. I'd say it's easier to go cold turkey on that one than to do it little by little because your tummy still expects food. JMHO Jo
Guest guest
Gail, we are down to a dove and a kitten now b/c of the divorce and move and one of our dogs dying. We used to have cockatiels (even had one that someone lost come to our yard and come to us), doves and parakeets. Lots of work. Jo
Guest guest
San go brush your teeth with sweet toothpaste and THROW THE CAKE MIX AND FROSTING AWAY or give it to a neighbor BEFORE you bake it. That could set you on a bad trail that won't end until you've set yourself back several pounds and a lot of discouragement. Drink some Metamucil that's flavored like Tang when you get these sweet cravings. It'll satisfy your sweettooth and fill you up. Also, get some of the WW sugar free fudgesicles and popsicles and some diet rootbeer and sugar free Jell-O. Those are all fairly cheap cheats (Cheap calorie/fat/carb wise). Hope this helps. Guest guest
Jo this is a little OT but what kind of birds do you have? I have 3 cockatiels and 3 parakeets. I just love birds!!! I would love to have different kinds but right now the money is tight to buy anymore. I saw a lutino ringneck parakeet at the pet shop and I fell in love was very close to taking out the credit card to buy her ($400) but my pratical side won!!! too bad!!!---GAil kindafeisty@... wrote:One of the big problems for me 2 years ago was that the only adult interaction I got was at night. Guest guest
Im so sorry Ang, I know how that feels. It's a real bummer. But I know you will nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand. Just dont panic like I did cause it made me eat more and now here I am 10 lbs. heavier than when I joined this group. Hugs, Tina major bummer :-( 176. Can you believe it? Up 2 more pounds. This is an emergancy! When the scale just starts that horrid back lash.!? Ok - new rule. I'm going to have to start easy... No eating after 11pm. Once I am ok with that - I'll move it down to 10:30 and I'll keep doing it till I hit say....8pm. Ang
Guest guest
Your ok Ang just start your calorie counting again that usually helps get you back on track. I'm at 185 now and really having a hard time. I have some cake mix and frosting that I've been dying to make. I cant help the craving at all. I dont want to binge or anything I've been eating really good but I really want to make that cake....UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! San > > > 176. Can you believe it? Up 2 more pounds. Guest guest
That's a gopod rule San. Hmm - maybe after I get the hang of no eating past 11pm, I can incorperate the only fruits and veggies after such and such time. (remind me of that later - great idea :-) Ang > > Oh cool - than I can't back out :-) > > It doesn'[t sound hard to the ones who go to bed eartly - but for > me - > > most of my calories are consumemd aftr 11pm! > > Ang
Guest guest
makes good sense. I wish I was a meal eater, it would be great to eat 3 or 4 times a day on schedule. I am a grazer - i can get up t 5 am and not eat a bite till 2 or 3 pm, but after the first bite - that's it - I'm straving till I am sleeping. Often I am hungry when I wake up - but I try to hold out as long as posible. Ang > One of the big problems for me 2 years ago was that the only adult > interaction I got was at night. Guest guest
Most of my calories are consumed between 1am and 3am...hardly eat anything during the day, too busy and tired to think about it! Theresa
Guest guest
oh ouch. 10 hu? Well, I HAD goten down to 173 - how great that was...now the 176. It realy isn't THAT big of a deal - but forall this time I've managed to keep it on the sownslide - ever so slowly at times. You right - nip it in the bud. I think what it was is that when I freaked on that 'issue' I couldn't eat for 3 days because I always felt like throwing up. Then my motablolism slowed and I got giddly and happy and on top of that my period. So the cravings went wild. Another problem is that I stopped buying my 'diet-just-incasers'. I got a few today - snackwells and lowfat grahm crackers. What I need to do is come up with some money and get my fat free beans and tortias and all that good stuff. OH _ OH _ OH ____next post gotta tell ya something on mcdee's Ang > Im so sorry Ang, I know how that feels. It's a real bummer. But I know you will nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand. At night after dinner i will have 2 cups of popped corn, or a rice cake, or a bowl of brown rice or a baked potato. Not eating any sugar is wonderful for cutting out the cravings!! Guest guest
Ya - I have a pantry full of that mix. I even opened one and thank heavens my mom pulled up - I shoved the open box at her as she came in the kitchen. LOL I have to buy them on sale because I'm the family's baker for all holidays. I've been buying stuff non-chocolate though :-) Ang > Your ok Ang just start your calorie counting again that usually helps > get you back on track. I'm at 185 now and really having a hard > time. Guest guest
Never thought of the tang medamusle - that's a new idea :-) Doesn't it set up like concreat if you stop stiring for 1/4 second or am I thinking of something different? Not > eating any sugar is wonderful for cutting out the cravings!! > Joanne I was just starting my tryng to get away from sugar when all stopped in the diet world. I think EVERYTHING I eat is sugar. I think I'll have to go back to segmenting my calories and fat again - allowing so many per section of day. Today is my first day of calorie counting and at 6:45 I am already at 1630/40. I am over my calories by 100 calories and at my top # limit for fat already. Sigh...I know I can't deprive myself or it won't work - so I guess I'll have to burn some calorie tonight and make a big bowl of plain airpopped popcorn to have when I need it. Guest guest
LOL. Hey - figure up how many people there will be ther tomarro and go ahead and pre cut and arrange the peices on a platter if you think you'll be tempted with it in the house - theen give hubby the trunk key and put it sealed in the trunk till tommarow - tell him he's not allowed to give you the key NO MATTER WHAT :-) It works real well so long as you don't have a pop trunk!
