Guest guest
I'm almost ready to chelate one child, myself and possibly my other children later on. I am a bit apprehensive just because of the unknown. Has anyone on the list ever had any bad, irreversible effects from chelating that required hospitalization. I guess I'm asking for responsed from anyone that has had serious adverse effects. I will feel better knowing that most folks who chelate do it safely. Thanks. N. Guest guest
Liz, The ALA I give in a very small amount of liquid, he can general drink it with one sip of a straw. I got him used to that so I can do the same at night. I've heard tons of other approaches on here so I'm sure someone will come up with something that works for you. As far as reluctant support from the other half, I am ashamed to say this, but my other half doesn't know I'm chelating . He thinks its all vitamin supplements. My husband would take 2 years reading stuff, not be able to make up his mind and then finally say " do what you want, that's what you're gonna do anyway " and he's right. So I'm doing this basically with no support other than this board. I supplement and give him enzymes every day, even during chelation. I'm new at this though and if I'm doing it wrong someone jump in and let me know too. Do I have to worry about copper? 2. I currently crush his supplements in a pill crusher and put them in his juice, he is starting to refuse this. Anyone have advice on the best way to administer ALA? 3. I give him Houston Enzymes, should I stop during chelation? And do I keep his supplement schedule going? (basically B2, B12, C, Selenium (only 50mcg) and magnesium) 4. My husband is halfway on board with this. Anyone do it with reluctant support from other half? Thanks in advance. Let's get that metal OUT OF THERE.

Anyone have advice on > the best way to administer ALA? > Use a syringe type or dropper with a juice or a suspension liquid ex. (Ora-sweet) And give a one stop shopping approach………. 1 & 2 spppppt…. And done. Stay consistent and keep demand on if it becomes a debate. If you do have resistance, run trials with just juice or a preferable drink before they trust the syringe method. This method had been very effective for us with all dosing we have done for 4 years now. Besides it is very consistent and there is never a guess as to how much they are getting . Good luck hope you do well with implementing a transition. Kenny V

I don't think you HAVE TO worry about copper. It is not really likely that it is a problem. Another option is to start chelating AND do a hair test AT THE SAME TIME. > > 2. Anyone have advice on > the best way to administer ALA? here is a collection of ideas: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_buy_DMSA.html Look toward bottom of page for headings such as ideas for giving kids stuff, night doses. Also stuff about teaching kids to swallow and other ideas. Try various things and see what will work for you and your kid. > > 3. I give him Houston Enzymes, should I stop during chelation? Guest guest
Kerrie, you and I are really cut from the same cloth. I was thinking about doing it and not telling my husband either. He would read about it for 2 years, think it over for another year and then say, go ahead and do it! I used ALA only, without a hair test. I gave zinc for a week or so before the ALA, then added the ALA. I did not have any problems doing it this way. > 2. Then my kids no longer needed enzymes =) And > do I keep his supplement schedule going? (basically B2, B12, C, > Selenium (only 50mcg) and magnesium) I would keep everything you are now doing. Consider adding a yeast protocol. Yeast was the only negative side effect I had while using ALA. > 4. My husband is halfway on board with this. Anyone do it with > reluctant support from other half? I had " reluctant support " , until my husband saw the results. Then I had " really nice support " . Dana
