Guest guest
I am a 21 year old female living in Fort Myers, FL. About a year ago I went to see a gynecologist because I was having vaginal pain. I was diagnosed with Pudenal Neuralgia (forgive the spelling). I then went for a second opinion and was told I was physically abused as a child and need to seek counseling. I have never had sex and have never had a pap smear taken. I then found another gyn and he diagnosed me with Vaginismus. He was very gentle but could not fully examine me. He sent me for biofeedback and kegal exercises. Nothing worked so he said he could not treat me. I have been doing a lot of research on the Internet and think I might have Vulvular Vestibulitis and not Vaginismus. No one here in Ft. Myers knows how to properly diagnose this disease. I have also tried different things like soaking in sea salt, low oxident diet, changing soaps etc. I recently went back to my gyn and gave me a prescription for lidocaine and estrogen patch. I read where my hormones may be the problem. Since the pain I have had panic attacks and I get dizzy spells and blurred vision. I have an an MRI - which turned out to be OK and have been to every doctor in town. They all look at me like I am crazy. I don't think I need counseling because I have pain and I know something is wrong. The pain I have is inside of the opening of the vagina (stinging, burning pain). Can you give me any help or suggestions or what kind of doctor I should really see? Or can you give me suggestions that I can pass along to my gyn? I appreciate any help. Thank you.
