Guest guest
I'm emailing you from my parent's home. Thank you to everyone for the wonderful wishes and encouragement. I have received so many emails, cards and beautiful flowers - I can't help but be cheered. The email delivery person at the hospital said that with the exception of a celebrity that was there last year, he's never seen so many email€ ’²s for one person. The nurses dubbed my hospital room the " decorator room " because of all the pictures of friends and family I had and the wonderful, beautiful, beautiful flowers that surrounded my bed. And, of course, all in purple! The surgeons had to give me a bad time about my pajama wardrobe. :-) I was kept in the hospital a couple of days more than anticipated because my blood pressure was too low. And, I found out that when you take demoral, you have the potential of seeing bugs crawling on the walls. Who knew!? So with all of that, and needing to get me off of the demoral, I was there until last Sunday. But as my little niece said, " I'm glad she stayed in the hospital longer. Hello, she just had BRAIN SURGERY! " I'm at my parents home now for a couple of weeks to re-coop. My get-up-and-go is slow. Taking a brief bath wears me out for a full morning. But, everyday I improve more and more. I'm a zipperhead now, with thirty staples up the back of my head. They are to be removed this Friday. My family, especially the kids, thinks this is really cool. My mom took pictures that my neurosurgeon will post on his new website. I won't be viewing them, EVER, as I do NOT think it's cool looking. :-) I have received good wishes and prayers from people I don't even personally know, but that through family and friends have encouraged me and prayed for me. My parent's pastors drove all the way up to Columbia to be with them during my surgery. A host family that we had never met before, kept Marvin and my parents in Columbia near the hospital at their house during the week so they wouldn't have to stay at a hotel. My kids were loved and cared for by loving friends, making my recovery so much more easy. Some of my children€ ’²s friends wrote me letters. What a hoot! I laughed so hard I hurt myself. One little girl drew a picture of me cooking and said, " € ’¥get well soon and if you cook a nice dinner you won€ ’²t believe how good you will feel. " She obviously hasn€ ’²t tasted my cooking! These are only a very, very, small example of all the love I've received. It's amazing how God has blessed me! I spent a good part of the last week of my the hospital stay listening to my CD player. If you ever want to know how incredible it is to have my hearing back, listen to your earphones with only one ear. That's how I heard it for 13 years. Then, listen with both earphones. That's how I hear now. So, so very, very incredible to me. I'm no longer dealing with the vertigo. Just the normal weakness from any surgery. And, everyday I find more and more little surprises in my improving health for which I am so thankful. I know I have a bit of road ahead on which I will recover. I promise to do as reminded by so many and take it slow and easy. When I have a little more energy I will email, write or call each of you individually. I hope you'll understand. Please also forward this to any of those you have had pray for me or encourage me (, my darling cousin, you especially!). Many of you asked for my parent€ ’²s phone and address and I can€ ’²t recall who you were (it's the drugs!). However, the phone is and the address is 3746 E. Bowman St, Springfield, MO 65809. Thanks again and much love, Sheree
