Guest guest Posted December 2, 2005 Report Share Posted December 2, 2005 SAATHII Job Opportunities for Technical Assistance Component of Tamil Nadu Family Care Continuum Programme (TNFCC) Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) has awarded funding to Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society (TANSACS) to expand antiretroviral treatment to 1000 parents/family members and care and support (including nutrition support) to 4000 parents/family members of HIV infected and affected children to prevent children being orphaned in the State of Tamil Nadu. TANSACS is implementing three family-centered continuum of care programs including ARV treatment (TNFCC) through existing government services in equal partnership with NGOs, CBOs and Positive Networks to provide a comprehensive range of HIV/AIDS care, support and treatment services including voluntary testing and counselling, routine medical care, routine HIV care, diagnosis and treatment of opportunistic infections, provision of antiretroviral treatment by trained clinicians, counselling for treatment preparedness and literacy, provision of psycho-social services, nutrition services and adherence counselling, out reach, home care linkages to income generating activities, legal services and housing. TNFCC program is being implemented by TANSACS at Government Kilpak Medical College Hospital, Chennai, Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical college Hospital and Salem Government Medical college Hospital, Tirunelvelli in partnership with CHES, YWCA, Gramodhaya, KNP+, SIP+, PWST, ACD, HILLS, Mithra Foundation, INDO, DMNS, SEARCH, SIVA Trust, MSDS, St. ph and Jayam. Yale University is conducting monitoring and evaluation of this project. Degree: MBBS/MD/PHD/Public Health Knowledge and Experience Requirement · At least 8 years of experience in project management and staff management. · Experience working in HIV/AIDS programming. · Demonstrable ability to approach a problem systematically and strategically and to facilitate delivery through others · Community public health knowledge · Experience working with government sector and national and international NGOs, CBOs and Positive Networks. · HIV/AIDS Clinical expertise and prior experience in operating and scaling care, support and treatment initiative will be viewed as an asset. Responsibilities: Day-to-day project and staff management, project planning and implementation and regular reporting to funding partner for the Technical Assistance Component of Tamil Nadu Family Care Continuum Program. High lights of these responsibilities include: · Managing staff of the Technical Assistance Team of TNFCC Program. · Oversight of implementation of Technical assistance to TANSACS on all aspects of project design, implementation, reporting and training. · Technical Assistance team liaison for TANSACS and Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) team in India. · Providing all the required support required by the M & E team. · Assistance to TANSACS on TNFCC NGOs/CBOs/Positive Networks on training, technical assistance and monitoring. · Assistance to TANSACS on clinical component monitoring. · Responsible for technical reporting of Technical Assistance Component to the funder. · Assistance in preparing operational manuals. · Assistance in preparing lessons learned from the program. · Grant writing related to TNFCC. · Strategic and Programmatic thinking of TNFCC program POSITION 2: PROGRAM MANAGER FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR TAMIL NADU FAMILY CARE CONTINUUM PROGRAM (JOB CODE –CHEN-CIFF-PM-1105). Location: Chennai Travel: 15- 20 days/month Hours: Will require attending late evening meetings and conference calls on certain days of the weeks Degree: MBBS/MD/PHD/Public Health Knowledge and Experience Requirement · Extensive experience working on care, support and treatment issues of HIV/AIDS. · Extensive experience in capacity building, training, and monitoring of NGOs, CBOs and Positive Networks. · Experience working with the government sector health facilities. · Medical expertise in managing the care of people infected with HIV/AIDS and experiencing treating children with HIV/AIDS will be viewed as an asset. · Experience in preparing operational and clinical manuals will be viewed as an asset. · Community public health knowledge Skills Requirement: · Team Player and ability to co-lead the program with other program manager. · Oral and written communication skills · Training skills. · Ability to plan and organize. · Ability to work and manage relationship with diverse program partners · Willing to work in a structured environment. · Possess strong interpersonal skills · Be willing to travel throughout the state · Tamil Speaking. Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include providing technical assistance to TANSACS on all aspects of project implementation and reporting with specific focus on non-clinical aspects of the project along with other project manager. Some of these activities include: · Technical assistance on non-clinical aspects of care continuum services including PMTCT, psychosocial and adherence counselling, pediatric counselling, nutrition services, home based care, out reach, treatment preparedness and literacy. · Operational and logistic coordination of certain components of the project along with other project manager. · Supportive assistance and monitoring of 16 TNFCC NGOs, CBOs and Positive networks on monthly basis. · Lead training on psychosocial, adherence and pediatric counseling, home based care, nutrition services, out reach and paediatric services, treatment preparedness and literacy services along with training coordinator. · Crafting successful linkages among the project partners. · Co-convening of experience-sharing and technical update meetings along with other project manager. · Provide support to M & E team representatives as required. · Assistance in preparing quarterly reports. POSITION 3: Part Time and Full Time Temporary Consultants Location: Chennai Travel: Required Hours: Will require attending late evening meetings. Technical Assistance Program of TNFCC is also looking for part and full time temporary consultants with extensive experience on care, support and treatment issues of HIV/AIDS to assist in capacity building and training, monitoring of NGOs, CBOs and Positive Networks and to assist in developing clinical and operational manuals and patient education materials.
