Ad Council and Autism Speaks Unveil PSA Campaign

The Advertising Council, in partnership with Autism Speaks launched a new public service advertising (PSA) campaign designed to raise awareness about autism and to urge parents to learn the signs of autism. Read more .

As part of the new campaign, we've updated the Learn the Signs section of our site with new material on learning the signs of autism, video clips of the TV ads, and an interactive quiz. Read more .

The 'New' Autism Speaks Meets in DC

Nearly 200 Autism Speaks staff members and volunteers met in Washington, DC, for the organization's annual leadership conference April 1-April 3, the first since the recent merger with the National Alliance for Autism Research. National and regional staffers, walk chairs and key volunteer leadership were on hand from around the United States and overseas to discuss accomplishments of the past year and plans for the year ahead. Suzanne Discusses Ad Campaign on Today Show

Autism Speaks co-founder Suzanne appeared on NBC's The Today Show on Friday, April 7, 2006 to introduce the new Ad Council campaign. In an interview with Al Roker, she talked about Autism Speaks and the message of the ad campaign. See Video .

Autism Speaks Advocacy Update

On April 4, nearly 90 volunteers and staff of Autism Speaks went to visit their U.S. Representatives and Senators on Capitol Hill. They visited 40 Senate offices and 51 House offices to urge support of the Combating Autism Act. On April 5th, Bob and Suzanne , their daughter , Deirdre Imus, and Autism Speaks board member Ann Gibbons joined board members from Cure Autism Now to meet with members of Congress to encourage their further support of the Combating Autism Act.
