Guest guest
Andy, I wanted to put my 17 son on a sulfur exclusion diet to see if his chronic state of red ears, ear infections and runny nose improve. He has never been hyperactive. He is the inhibited type of autistic. He developed this chronic runny nose 5 years ago after the MMR vaccine. I would like to know if chronic ear infections/runny nose could be a sign of high sulfur? I've read so many times in your posts where you mention putting someone on a sulfur exclusion diet to see if their problems improve; but, I have never read what type of problems are symptoms of someone with high sulfur. Can you list some of those symptoms here? It is obvious to me he has a poor immune system due to heavy metal toxicity. He has not chelated with lipoic acid in over a month due to not feeling well enough to chelate. He doesn't use DMSA. I plan to start CLO soon. He is taking Transfer Factor, echinacea, zinc lozenges, vit. C, beta glucan, magnesium, B complex, E, selenium, molybdenum, chromium, Proefa from Nordic Naturals and flax seed oil. He is also using Gaia mullein/garlic/tea tree ear drops. This stuff helps. He is also using a warm water bag on his ears. This helps alot, also. I was wondering whether to do the sulfur exclusion diet first or start the CLO first. What do you think? Thank you. Rose
Guest guest
Problems that may improve are depression, lethargy, motor difficulties, emotional swings, and immune overactivity such as wild allergies or asthma. I don't know if the ear infections are possibly signs of this or not. Sulfur problems seem to skew what the immune system does so part is overactive and part underactive, so it is possible, but I haven't heard of this particular one before. The chronic runny nose may well be a sulfur thing. Hopefully others on list who have found their kid to do better on low sulfur diets will comment on exactly what changed. If he is HIGH sulfur, he will have the problems be worse while on ALA. If he is low sulfur they will be better while on ALA. >He doesn't use DMSA. I plan to start > CLO soon. What do you think? I don't know. With the CLO or any other source of vitamin A I would suggest using a lot of it. 5-20 RDA's. >Thank yo

Oh! there is also a great write-up about sulfur and how it relates to metals in the body on the list. Hang on--- let me go find you a link --- /files/Metals%2C%20Chela tion%20and%20Enzymes you will have to copy carefully to get that whole long line of text.... best wishes, Moria
