Guest guest
, I don't have any answers for you, but I just wanted to wish you luck and congratulate you for getting to your 27th week. I love hearing sucess stories. Keep us posted. belly Hi guys! Well Im 27 weeks so far and I feel like my belly should be much bigger then it is. The Dr said all of my measurements (tape measurement of my belly and growth scans of the baby) are right on track but I just feel like my belly should be bigger. Is this because of the bi-cornate? I have gained 15 lbs so far (pre-preg weight was 125). Another question - I feel this rhythematic thump in my belly sometimes...what is it? Can the baby possibly have a kick that is rythematic (lasts for like a few minutes)? Like thump 1 2 thump 1 2 thump 1 2...At first I thought it was my heart beat but it feels too slow...any guesses? Also, the baby is still breech with the feet down...well see if she flips... Oh, and another thing, I just found out Im positive for Beta Strep and I know it is common but its is still freaking me out! Thanks all and hope you have a great new years! Hugs, EDD 3/29/02 BU (with middle coming all the way down to just before the cervix) __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi , Congrats - 27 weeks is great!! You're heading for the home stretch now. Being somewhat of a PG veteran - I am 35+ weeks with my 3rd right now, I actually have experience with ALL 3 things you describe. I have consistently " carried small " through all 3 of my pregnancies. Part of it is that I am tall - 5'10 " , so my belly can " spread out " lengthwise a bit more, and part of it is that my babies have been relatively small - the first two were under 7 lbs and the third is likely to be as well. This is not necessarily a problem, don't let people's comments scare you or put you off. I am used to being told that I " hardly look pregnant " - even now, 3 weeks before delivery!!! As long as you measure okay at your doctor's, I really wouldn't be concerned. I guess I've tried to enjoy the fact I don't look so huge, although I've gained 40 lbs with each pregnancy - I was very skinny to start with - about 120 lbs, and end up at 160 lbs, and still people tell me I look so small, LOL. The rhythmic movements are defintely hiccups. I have had these with all three babies, it just means that they are practicing swallowing the amniotic fluid and/or sucking their thumb/fingers and this causes their diaphragm to spasm in hiccups, just like when we drink too fast or something cold etc. As for GBS (Group B Strep) - I have tested positive in both of my previous pregnancies. I am surprised that you would be tested so early - at 27 weeks - because as Beth mentioned, this comes and goes and what is important is to determine if you are positive at the point of labour. I just got tested this week, and I am at 35 weeks. Even if they were to give you antibiotics now, it could still return and you would need to be re-tested closer to delivery. In both my labours, I was given IV antibiotics and as long as your labour isn't extremely fast, so they can get a full dose through the drip, you should have no other issues. The only thing that drove me crazy about GBS was that the nurses would check mine AND the baby's temp EVERY hour for about 12 hours after delivery, which was MADDENING when I delivered at 9 pm and was DYING for some sleep. They woke both of us up constantly through the night. I guess it's a small price to pay to ensure that you're both okay. Anyway, congratulations on your progress, and all the best in the coming weeks. Take care, Lia UD, 35+weeks with baby boy#

Guest guest
Hi , Interesting - like you, I always felt like my belly should be bigger, even though the doc said I measured right for dates. I do think my BU had something to do with it. I learned to just smile and say " thank you " when people well-meaningly commented on how " tiny " I was for someone who was 7 months, 8 months, 9 months pregnant. :-) Oh and those rhythmic thumps - sounds like hiccups! Get ready, 'cause they don't go away, and even after the baby is born he/she will probably still have them frequently. had them too, both in and out of the womb! Good luck!! Hugs, EDD 3/29/02 BU (with middle coming all the way down to just before the cervix)>>> My guess on the rhythmic thumping....is that the baby has hiccups. I know that my baby had them a few times and they weren't strong feeling movements like big kicks but enough to feel them and sometimes see them. I loved all the different movements that my baby made...I never got tired of it! Sandi BU Mommy to Austin 12/07/
