No.

Unless you have a balloon or InterCEED inside the cavity, you should

have a day or three of slow pink bleeding that turns to clear in two

or three days. For the next two weeks a colorless serum leaks out.

It sure does sound as if you're getting your period--who's to say

that it won't come early? Your case is an oddball one, since most

septoplasties are done before ovulation.

Or you could have aggravated the bleeding by going cross country

skiing. After you have a baby, exercise easily exacerbates

postpartum flow . . . this is probably a similar wound.

Here's how surgery screwed up my cycle: Looking back to March, when

I had my second, hormoneless septoplasty, it was done on cycle day

eleven, and I bled for four days (getting rid of the InterCEED). Then

nothing happened.

I usually ovulate before day 21, and when nothing had happened by

then, I took some leftover Provera to bring on a period. But against

all expectations, I then ovulated, on CD 30! It was one weirdo

cycle, and lasted 43 days. I think the shock of the surgery delayed

ovulation.

HTH,

Beth

Subject: Bleeding after metroplasty-??

Hello,
Thank you all for your messages before and after my surgery!!
I felt great the first day only to wake up Friday morning feeling like I had
been hit by a car...every muscle in my body was in agony. I guess this was
from the anesthetic and/or the gas used in the lap. By Saturday this was
gone, and I felt great enough to go cross country skiing on Sunday, and to a
wedding reception that evening (where my fiance told everyone I had just had
" mullerian surgery " !!! I laughed when I heard that.)
My surgery was on day 29 of my cycle, which is ususally between 34-37 days.
Based on my chart, AF should have arrived yesterday. My temp this am was
still high, however, but the bleeding has increased by a lot since Saturday
(after surgery I only had spotting). Since I am supposed to schedule a
follow-up hysteroscopy 4-6 weeks post surgery, I am wondering how my cycle
is going to go. It seems like I am having AF, but hard to say. Should I
expect fairly heavy bleeding following septum resection? The surgeon told
me the bleeding would likely merge into a period, so maybe this is it. Just
wondering about other experiences. I'm not taking any hormones, and Beth
you suggested my period may still be delayed.
Thanks!

Septate Uterus, 2 cervices, vaginal septum, one kidney
Septum Resection done, small septum left at fundus, will know extent of this
at follow-up hysteroscopy in 4-6 weeks
