Guest guest
Don’t you get tired of thinking about eating or not eating? I know I felt that way when I went to church camp for a week. It seems like we spend so much time thinking about how we will eat that we cannot enjoy the other things around us. I see myself obsessing over what will be on the menu later. “Oh no”, I think,” I want to be sure to be hungry for the next meal”. I am trying to relax about those issues, because frankly, I think it will drive me crazy. I try to focus on one meal at a time then forget about food. Buffets are hard but if I am well fed before time then I do better than if I sacrifice for my trip to the buffet table. My tough issue is car trips. In my family as a child my father ate the whole way on vacation and so did I. I taught my children the same bad habit. We pack our car full of junk food and eat because we are bored. The last three years I haven’t eaten much throughout the car ride, but I sure do suffer the ‘pull’ of food. I haved chewed a lot of gum and drank a lot of diet pop (which means more bathroom stops). I would like to break that habit to be where it doesn’t even bother me. Have a good time on your trip and relax, it doesn’t matter what you gain or lose in weight, just in memories. My fiance is playing in the WSOP as I type this, but they are not allowing spectators, so I decided to write an entry about IE on the trip so far. Feel free to comment if you want, I feel like I've had some (self-)insightful thoughts on IE in the last few days. http://www.intuitive-eating-2006.blogspot.com
