Guest guest
- My parents use Rice Milk as well as the son of a friend. You find it on the shelfs in the store, because it doesn't have to be refrigerator until opened. I don't know the calorie content. Guest guest
Hi All, This discussion about food has brought up a problem I have been dealing with. My daughter, Adelaine, is entirely fed by g-tube. She is also allergic to any form of dairy and soy. She has been on a mix of rice milk and enriched oat milk (plus other stuff--sugar, oil, protein powder, vitamins), but the oat milk has recently been discontinued. I am so tired of trying to find an acceptable formula for her. Our dietician is not very motivated, so really it is up to me to make sure she has what she needs. Then the dietician will confirm my findings. Does anybody know of a premade liquid food source for g-tubes without dairy or soy? Two other unrelated questions...does anybody have a source for monoject med syringes? They are the blue and clear ones that are easy to get in the hospital, yet hard to find anywhere else! Two...when Laney was in the NICU I was pumping and the hospital provided me with clear plastic 2 oz. bottles and silver metal lids. The lids came in four-packs wrapped in blue paper. They fit standard bottles perfectly. Three years later ours are wearing out and I need replacements! Thank you for any help you can provide!!! , Mom to Adelaine -- The 's Ann Arbor, MI j-cooper@... http://www.mich.com/~jaj

Guest guest
neocate one plus is an amino acid formula which is hypoallergenic. very expensive and you do have to mix the powder with water to make it. It lasts 24 hours. My boys have done really well on it. As for the syringes, I ordered the monojects years ago from the pharmacy. They were quite expensive if I remember though and I had to order a case. Is this the only kind you can use??? We order the luer lock ones in boxes of different sizes from our home care company that supplies all our tube feeding and CVL supplies. I also order Christmas tree adapters to fit into their tube feeding extension sets and that seems to work well. When I was giving them meds by mouth, (if you are doing that) they were fine for that too. Best of all insurance pays if we order them with our weekly supplies. No help, I'm sorry, with the metal caps. Would your hospital be willing to give you a pack? I'll see if any of the nurses I know at our hospital have them and let you know if I can get them.
