Guest guest
Trudy, good news about your run of sinus rhythm! Inflammation has come up before as a topic of discussion; C-reactive protein can be tested to make a determination in this regard (if I remember correctly). I have two questions for you: have you ever had this test? and does the 4.5 months of sinus also mean that you have not experienced the runs of ectopics that you've described in the past? Sandy 55 USA antibiotics help prevent afib? > Folks, > > I throw this tidbit of info out into the pool. Hi, Sandy, I had one problem with ectopics in late April/early May but I was taking Cipro at the time. The ectopics were 2-3 days and PVCs. PVCs are a known possible side effect of Cipro. This episode was very atypical for me, since before an episode had never lasted nearly that long and I had had mostly PACs. That hasn't recurred, so I am writing it off to the Cipro unless it happens again. 2-3 days ago I did heavy garden work, and surprise, no ectopics. I had a crp test in January. It was off the charts, but I also had some mild infection at the time, and that can cause crp to be elevated. Since my doc says it takes crp at least 3 months to settle down, I didn't have it retested right away. I got swamped with other stuff but plan to have it tested in a couple of weeks. I'm wondering if you ever did give up dairy products either partially or completely? I know you were talking about it at one time. Everybody's different, but I don't think antibiotics have done much for my afib. I had my longest ever ten day run of afib a year ago last July when I took ten days of Amoxicillin following a root canal. Of course, I realize that the afib could have had other causes and may have been coincidental with the antibiotic, but I continued to have severe afib even after I was off of the Amoxicillin although the ten day afib run ended when the Amoxicillin did. My INR also shot up while I was taking the Amoxicillin, but returned to normal when I finished. in sinus in Seattle (Day 113)

Guest guest
It just goes to show how different we all are. And how our types of AF are triggered or helped by different things. Antibiotics make me so much worse. They also give me vertigo which lasts until a week after I've finished the course. I dread ever getting another infection. Antibiotics make me so much worse. Hi, Fran, The Cipro, which is an antibiotic, sure caused a problem for me with PVCs. None of the others did, though - they had me on 4 others by the time the dust settled.

I have given up yogurt, because I realized that I got slightly short of breath after eating it. I wouldn't have noticed that if it hadn't been for your discussion of dairy. I have also given up milk and substituted plain soy drink for it; in things like tomato soup, the stronger flavor of the tomato almost masks the soy flavor. I still eat ice cream, I'm trying to cut down on cheese.
