Hi everyone,

I am new to the group. I started having problems in October of 2,000.

First if was bladder infections than yeast , it repeating itself. Then I

started having bladder retention. That was awful. Then on Christmas day

of 2001 I hit bottom. I had horrible pain in my urethra and vulva.

Stabbing pain, slacks bother me etc. I have been to the gyn 3 times and

he says everything is okay, then I visit two urologists. The second one

said I had urethritis. I am to o stay on a low grade of Tempex for 3

months. Nothing is getting better. Now I cannot even function to go and

do things during the day. I just and feel miserable. It hurts to much to

sit so I lay.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I have been reading

" Screaming to be heard " and now I am more confused on what to do about

the estrogen. I had everything taken out several years ago so I am on

Estertest. I don't know if that is good or bad.

Thanks for listening,

A couple of thoughts:

From what I read about female urethritis....it may be a mild form of

Interstitial Cystitis (IC). Having IC can make the vulva hurt as

well. Do a search on Interstitial Cystitis and see if the symptoms

are similar to yours. http://forum.asiaco.com/cgi-

because I am having a heck of a time with pain after urinating right

now, I see the urologist again thursday?? I was just wondering if

the capsules would work or if it has to be the tea. The capsules

smell and taste gross does the tea smell that bad??

They say the tea works better....you can open a capsule or two and

make the tea.

I think the tea tastes like dirt.....but I haven't added any milk or

sweetener to it. I just drink it and try to ignore the taste.

My urologist called yesterday....he thinks it is urethritis but doing

some research....that could just mean I have a milder form of

interstitial cystitis. He didn't offer any help.

Hope your appt goes better...

Daphne,

You sound like me...according to 3 urologists, I don't have IC but I

have something. The last doctor said Urethritis yet....it has no

cure and no cause AND many doctors think it is mild IC.

I also do NOT have frequency or urgency. After I pee....I get up and

start to walk away..my urethra aches. Sometimes...I have bladder

pressure or the feeling that I have to go even when I just did but

that usually happens after a reat UTI and eventually clears up. I

just seem to feel my urethra all day long so I am focused on the

area. I go about 6-8 times a day and not at night unless I drink a

glass of water before bed.

I did ask him on the phone about mycoplasmas/ureaplasmas and he said

that he may treat me for that in a month if I am no better. I am

still putting my faith into the natural herbs because it has been 2

years and nothing has helped other than the herbs.
