" Public health partnership between INP+ and FXB to project a unified

response to the rights of the children orphaned and made vulnerable

by HIV and AIDS, their family and careers in India " .

You are invited to witness the function of signing a Memorandum of

Understanding between Indian net work for people living with HIV and

AIDS (INP+) and Association Francois Xavier Bagnoud (AFXB)

The Geneva based Association Francois Xavier Bagnoud (AFXB) and

carrying out its programmes in India through Francois Xavier Bagnoud

Indian Society and Indian Network for People living with HIV AIDS (INP+) will

be signing a public health response partnership to address HIV and AIDS in

India.

AFXB has been a leading global innovator and pioneer in the fight

against HIV & AIDS since 1989. AFXB has identified and applied

practical solutions to the social, economic and health problems

caused by the AIDS pandemic globally, FXB as a part of the AFXB

family, has 36 offices – in all the states and union territories

and works towards HIV & AIDS prevention, counseling, education

assisting people living with HIV AIDS to improve their quality of

life through provision of information, education, advice, advocacy,

peer support, practical support and representations.

INP+ is known for its work on issues affecting people who are HIV

positive, and people living with HIV AIDS. INP+ is a national

network for, by and of the people living with HIV/AIDS in India.

INP+ aims to improve the quality of life of people living with

HIV/AIDS and give them a sense of belonging, political empowerment

and strength of spirit. Begun in 1997 as a support group, INP+ has

now grown into a singular national movement for People living with

HIV/AIDS with more than 10,000 members in India. Its secretariat is

based in Chennai. The mission of INP+ is to " Improve the quality of

life of people living with HIV/AIDS in India

Through this public health partnership AFXB, FXB & INP+ have agreed

to work together to enhance.

• Respect for the right of HIV positive people to determine

their own needs and to play a central role in their health, well

being and health care services.

• To foster equity by considering and including the views and

needs of those individuals and groups who are geographically,

culturally and/or socially isolated.

• To work in cooperation towards ensuring the availability of

basic and accessible information, this is culturally sensitive to

specific communities.

And to achieve broadly the following objectives:-

(a)to promote social justice principles of self determination

for people living with HIV/AIDS

(b)to project a unified response to the rights of the children

orphaned and made vulnerable by HIV and AIDS, their family and

careers.

©to ensure that people with HIV/AIDS receive the highest

quality accessible and non-discriminatory services possible.

Countess Albina du Boisouvray the founder of Association François-

Xavier Bagnoud (AFXB) will be the guest of honour.
