Guest guest Posted November 23, 2005 Report Share Posted November 23, 2005 Dear FORUM, This is to cordially invite all concern with HIV\AIDS at the event on World AIDS Day,2005, being organised by SPACE with support from UNESCO with the UN theme of the year " Don't Turn Your Back on AIDS " on 1st December,2005 at Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. SPACE (Society for Peoples' Awareness, Care & Empowerment) is an NGO run by young people working on issues of Education, Gender and Sexual Health including HIV\AIDS intervention with neglected children, adolescents and other youth groups informal and non-formal settings. Like every year , this year too we are organising the World AIDS Day Campaign with the UN theme of the year " Don't Turn Your Back On AIDS " with the youth of Jamia Mllia Islamia University in collaboration with UNESCO and Plan International on 1st of December 2005. The programme is more of an infotainment kind with inter department and inter college presentations on various themes related to HIV\AIDS.The items would be like:choreography, skits, live orchestra,competitions, Hunt for best friends in the campus,photography, counselling, informative stalls, games and other interesting activities.Various departments of the University are for the first time coming together under a single platform for the cause. The programme is designed in such a way as to get maximum participation from the youth.Keeping in mind the saying " By the youth, for the youth and of the youth. " A number of leading public schools would be visiting and participating in the Event. Its a day long programme. We expect around 7000 students from the Universities (Jamia & DU)and from Public schools to benefit from the event. We also expect some celebrities to inaugurate the event.
