Guest guest
Dear All, I have just joined the list and I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jo and I have suffered from vulvodynia for 2 years and 3 months. During this period the pain level has been fairly constant, it has never gone away, and is worsened if I swim in a pool or am particularly stressed. I have noticed that the condition has eased slightly when I am on holiday from work. I have followed guidelines such as only wearing white underwear but I have not yet managed to substantially lessen the pain. I began to take evening primrose oil in tablet form but shortly afterwards I discovered that I was pregnant (despite having had to greatly limit sexual activity with my partner due to pain) and I have decided to stop taking the tablets for the next few months, until after the birth and also once I have stopped breastfeeding. I have been told by a dermatologist that she knows of 3 local women with vulvodynia who had natural births and whose condition eased because the pain of the birth gave the vulval nerve endings a proper focus- I am due to give birth in September and I am just hoping that the same happens to me! I would appreciate any advice or tips regarding vulvodynia and childbirth! Thanks, Jo. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.
