As far as I have heard there is NOT a concern about this with using ALA. I can't say why her counts are low, but it could be from metals or other reasons. I think it means her immune system is weak. The only concerns that I can think of with ALA are: 1. avoid use for at least 3 months after mercury exposure (due to concerns about BBB) 2. it is sulfury--- people with high sulfur may be very uncomfortable taking it, and need to carefully restrict sulfury foods... 3. it tends to decrease copper excretion. high copper is toxic. if a person is already very high in copper then may want to wait to use ALA until copper is reduced by use of zinc and reduced copper intake. Or one could take ALA and zinc. Any of those might be a big concern for one person but no concern at all for someone else. Moria
Guest guest
am writing to add one more item to my list: 4. don't use ALA if amalgam dental fillings. Hi Minna, >From what I read... a low WBC may mean there is a bone marrow problem as a result of either autoimmune disease or from drugs like AZT, ganciclovir, Bactrim and other drugs. Tuberculosis, histoplasmosis, and other fungal diseases may also cause bone marrow problems or " cytopenia " , low cell counts. Lymphocytes (lymphs) are cells that produce antibodies, regulate the immune system, and fight viruses and tumors. They are usually low in some autoimmune diseases and acute infections. I have no idea how accurate these things are, and how they relate to your daughter, but maybe it has something to do with the vaccines.... ? I don't know if mercury itself can be the culprit here but I wouldn't be surprised... In case you decide to chelate, I guess you should avoid DMSA.
