Dealing with Pharma PR machinery, role of AIDS INDIA e FORUM etc.

Dear Forum:

In follow up to my earlier posting on postings by pharmaceutical

companies. Re:Emcure PR machinery. (AIDS India / Friday April 28), I

would like to propose the following:

1. In the light of, this FORUM becoming more than just an information

dissemination service (almost resembling an HIV AIDS Journal with an

edition coming out almost everyday!), should this not have an

articulated stand on who it accepts postings from, or at least have

a conflict of interest declaration policy in place for all postings?

2. Should there be a formal review / advisory mechanism in place for

the FORUM, in the light of its immense reach and influence?

I would like all of us to take a moment to reflect on these issues,

as we use this immensely useful group mechanism, to make it even more

useful.
