Guest guest
Hello everyone, Has anyone else had allergy issues with surgery. I need to contact my surgeon about avoiding latex during my surgery. I'm not anafalactic (sp?), but I am allergic. I also have other allergies like iodine/betadine. Have surgeons and hospital staff been cooperative? Or, should I be sure to have someone watching everything the staff tries to do? Please share your expereinces with me. Getting a latex-free procedure at my local hospital is always a fiasco. They never have the supplies. Plus, they always try to smear iodine all over my arm for the IV. I am usually concious and can intervene..... But I won't be during and after surgery..... Thank you all for answering my questions. I am feeling overwhelmed with planning for my surgery. I truly appreciate your help. from Massachusetts ACM1, 8mm, dx’d 9/99 Symptoms for 10 years Surgery scheduled with Dr. Frim (Chicago) for May 15, 2000! “The greatest oak tree was once a little nut who held its ground.” author unknown ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
