Guest guest
I am a migrain sufferer, also. Amerge made the big differnce with me. Imitrex did nothing for me. It is amazing how many vulvodynia sufferers suffer with migraines, too. Daphne's passing makes me wonder if some of her vulva symptoms were related to her massive stroke. I read some of her post where she would have tingling feelings in her vulva area. Makes you wonder. My heart goes out to her family.
Guest guest
Just weighing in on migraines. I guess mine are relatively mild. Definitely hormone related. But usually I can get relief if I take caffene as soon as I realize I am getting one. Caffene is the extra ingredient in most of the over the counter migraine medicines. Since the pain relievers never worked anyway I don't see any reason to take the combination pill. Marilyn A. Re: Suzy: re: migraines Sue & Suzy,You can add me to the list of those with migraines. I've had them for a few years now. Haven't tried Imitrex but have tried Excedrin Migraine, Advil Migraine, and Motrin Migraine. They only work sometimes. Sheri Suzy- I had no idea you had migraines. I have had them too for at least 15years. Before Imitrex I would spend 3 days in bed not able to eat, be inlight or even smell some foods. I had I water bowl with ice in it as myconstant companion. I have gotten some relief through Imitrex and taking apreventive daily. I have an allergic reaction to Compazine (I can'tbreathe) to make matters worse. Guest guest
I used to get a migraine just before my period. Every month. I stopped them by eating a chocolate bar. I decided it was low blood sugar but don't really know. Then when menopause started I would get terrible headaches that would always hit me after lunch along with a gnawing feeling of hunger pangs. They would last until the sun went down and then just disappear. Staying in a dark room didn't help. They only stopped at sunset. I don't think they were migraines. I went on the hypoglycemic diet and I stopped getting them. Ora

Guest guest
Just thinking -I get migraines every so often which only last for about a day. However, I do get very bad headaches on an almost daily basis (not presently, but I go through times where that will happen for about a month or two). This has happened as long as I can remember since I was a young teen. Hmmmm.... liz __________________________________________________
Guest guest
You might benefit from the hypoglycemic diet. It involves eating protein more often and always along with your carbohydrates. Also I needed to eat more often and not wait until I was hungry. It really helped me. I never eat carbos alone any more - always include some protein. I very rarely get a headache any more. But another thing that will give me a headache (the next day) is concentrated milk. That is milk which has been ultra-pasteurized and about two thirds of the water removed. It finds its way into milk sometimes. So read the label and if it is there, don't buy that milk. I think what happens is that when we eat carbos only we produce insulin to digest the carbos. Then we get an insulin surge because we can produce more than we need. That can give you a headache. It did me. Guest guest
I had headaches (bad ones) all my adult life. Finally a few years ago I realized that I am really sensitive to caffeine. That means I get physically addicted to the stuff even after just a couple cups and if I don't drink more of it in about twenty four hours I actually go into withdrawal and a headache is one of the things I get. It took me most of my life to figure that out. Arline __________________________________________________

Guest guest
I get one hormone-related migraine each month, which I can usually stave off by remembering to put on my Climara patch a few days before my period starts. Caffeine is/was a *major* trigger for my migraines, as was Nutrasweet. I find it somewhat interesting that caffeine is in so many headache remedies. Cutting out caffeine and never even looking at Nutrasweet really helped me get better, in addition to the medication the homeopath gave me. Suzy --- " S.
