Guest guest
Are liver Porphyrins in any way related to liver " enzymes " ? Several years ago, I was having problems with severe heartburn to the point that I thought it was heart problems. A blood test determined that my liver enzymes were elevated. I had lots of blood tests, etc. done to determine the cause, it was all inconclusive, I got tired of dealing with all the tests, etc.(all the while dealing with my autistic son and searching for help for him) and just gave up on the " specialists " threw away all the prescription drugs and turned toward nutritional supplements. I have found that Milk thistle, MSM and Microhydrin helps me to feel better, but I still don't know where my liver enzymes stand. Getting back to the question...could my 15 amalgam fillings be the cause of my elevated liver enzymes? (I think I already know, but want a verification from someone who REALLY knows) Also, would you suggest that I get more blood tests done to determine if I still have this problem? As always, thanks and God bless, Lindy

I don't know. Were they more than twice the upper normal limit? Are you feeling bad now? Did the doc's at the time want to track them? > As always, thanks and God bless,
Guest guest
---Thanks, Andy.... What ARE liver Porphyrins??/ I don't know exactly how high my liver enzymes were(are) but my doc seemed to be concerned, testing me for everything from Hepatitis to AIDS! I called the Gastroenterologist (the last " specialist " I saw) to request my test results. They should be " in the mail. " Shortly before this I had experienced serious " anxiety attacks " sending me to the emergency room...putting me on drugs to calm me, drugs to put me to sleep, drugs to wake me up, etc...until I was a ZOMBIE!!! This does not work when you have an Autistic child who was a " runner " and a " non-sleeper " at the time! My doc asked me if I was taking alot of TYLENOL! I was taking NONE, and when I asked if the prescription drugs could be a problem, he assured me that they were not the cause. I did not believe him, and threw them away. I have been thinking about this all week, and I believe there may be a correlation between my bouts with heartburn/acid reflux and my fillings breaking off, and parts of them falling out. I have been having the same problem since half of a large filling broke off in January. Since I have been loading up on anti-oxidants, it has helped alot. I assume that when the filling breaks off there may be additional Hg vapors released through the previously unexposed surface of the Amalgam filling...would you consider this a " correct " assumption? Thanks again and may God bless, Lindy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ > > Are liver Porphyrins in any way related to liver " enzymes " ? > > No. > > > Several years ago, I was having problems with severe heartburn to > the > > point that I thought it was heart problems. > > A blood test determined that my liver enzymes were elevated. Yes. I'd also say if your filings are doing that it is long past time to get them replaced with non-mercury ones.
