Guest guest
Hello All, Here is a choice slice of delusional confection for your reading pleasure. It's off of Jim K's site and I felt that it would be a worthy replacement for today's headline as I was incapable of coming up with anything nearly as effective for your comedic palates. Better get yourself a large beverage to wash it all down. Bon Appetite! PREDICTION I guarantee you that the spiritual transformation of the third millennium, a true theological revolution if it is to come, will be led by the earliest members of the Church Of God Anonymous and, further, we will be labeled as heretics by the principal popular religions of Christianity and Islam. When this revolution does occur, it will be the result of the actions of many now deceased and living members of Alcoholics Anonymous, Alanon and other 12 Steps Groups. This revolution, as are all rebellions, will have been initiated by one man, of some spiritual genius, such as Bill W. or Jim K. and others, perhaps yet unborn, who will take all the incredible laws, creeds, postures and myths of today's Christian Church and turn them inside out, so they have some relevance in the New Age, the Third Millennium. Such a man or woman-seeing through the murky varnish of wealth, snobbery, self-seeking and apathy which overlays the Christian Church, to the essential message at its core would, by sacrifice and total commitment, work her/his modern miracle. She/he would have to be a person of vigor, humor, passion, concern, selfless courage and, above all, action. It is fairly certain that shah will have the greatest influence upon the youth and not among the elders of the existing Christian Church or Moslem Mosque; it is probable that she/he would not mingle with the leaders of society but with the powerless and rejected; it is predictable that the new prophet or prophets would be in command of contemporary means of communication, including the Internet, but that her/his real communication would be through her/his own commitment to her/his faith in the essential spiritual principles of Alcoholics Anonymous that resulted in the teachings of The Church Of God Anonymous (CGA). It is axiomatic that the leader of CGA would be reviled as the most dangerous of heretics for slicing through the labyrinth of myth and dogma of the Christian Church in the waning days of the 20th Century. It is more than likely that, being an enemy of the existing power structure-religious, social and political-shehe would be denounced as a traitorous radical. And, it is in the cards that society would find some modern means of crucifying her/him. Penniless, scarred, cast out, abandoned, denied and finally silenced by death, shehe would seem to her/his contemporaries to have failed miserably in her/his obviously vain, grandiose task of offering the spirituality of CGA to the modern world. Yet, there will be one or two or perhaps, one million or two million, who at the moment of her/his death would be moved to commit their lives to her/his ideals. After the same manner did Jim K. and others carry on the dreams of Bill W., Lois and Dr. Bob. It is likely that the first members of CGA will grow to become the " Christian Church " of the New Age. It does not follow that it will necessarily be called by its present name. It will certainly not be named after any human person. The name is immaterial. Names are like titles and offices, vestments and cathedrals, ecclesiastical facades and human shells- important only to those who put more trust in ancient garments than in the spirit of the Higher Power- God, within!
