Guest guest
I'm with you, Lori - 15-20 seconds in a 7.0 earthquake seems like forever! I'm a native So. Californian who moved to Alaska (guess I like the earthquake states!) and I've ridden out more than my share of earthquakes. I vividly remember one of the first large earthquakes up in the LA area which caused freeways to fall, etc - much like the last San Francisco earthquake. We lived in San Diego County, but it shook our house so badly that I was not able to walk down the stairs without hitting the walls on both sides! Ever since then I've known just before a quake hits whether I'm asleep or awake ... we had a 5.8 up here a couple months ago and I was up and running down the stairs about 30 seconds before the house began swaying back and forth! I don't even want to contemplate 7.0! I'm relieved there were few injuries - I truly feel for the countries who are not able to build up to " code " ! Teri The game of life is the game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later, with astounding accuracy.
