I'm waiting for the AA'ers responses to this, which will be to the

effect:

" JUST DON'T DRINK is simply not possible for Real Alhcoholics. This is

just a bastardization of the AA slogan " Don't drink and go to meetings, "

and no Real Alcoholics can stop drinking without the spiritual fellowship

of Alcoholics Anonymous.

" My congressman is well aware of the widespread need for treatment and for

AA, and I'll personally give him a copy of this article and tell him just

how important it is to counter these claims of instant cures, when I see

him at the meeting at 8PM tonight. "

Haven't you ever heard of Reagan? Her campaign was a total bust.

My son was a teenager during the Reagan tenure, and we had many a talk

about how futile it was to " Just say no. "

More is required. In my son's case, a parent's support, at the very

least, and perhaps more that I don't know about.
