Guest guest
---Hi Pete this is a side effect of this drug. amiodarone is unlike many of the drugs that we take it gets into every single part of your body and stays there for months. It was the same for me you thyroid went slowly mad and then gets out of control. what have they put you on now Carbisomol (Sp) good luck it fun though as you dont need much sleep and you can eat what you like, I was breathless so that was not much fun. john C Hi All Follow on from my visit to the Cardio on Monday. Today I went to see my normal Doctor, just to put her in the picture about what had happenend over the last 3 weeks with my deteriorating situation. Well what a shock I had, when she announced that she had just received the results of my blood test on Monday. Alarm bells rang as she told me that my Thyroid was now running out of control, and that would be compatible with the symptoms I had been experiencing. Odd thing was that I had taken Amiodarone for about 3 yrs and had never had a Thyroid problem, I had my last Thyroid check back in January, when I stopped taking Amiodarone. How then does my Thyroid suddenly start to go active. So now I`m on another drug to try to reverse the action whilst maintaining the 250mg Digoxin. Anybody have any ideas as to what can have happened here?
