The following advertisements are for positions under the India Essential Advocacy Project (EAP), a three-year project under Avahan, the India AIDS Initiative of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Position: SENIOR POLICY/MONITORING & EVALUATION ADVISOR Broad Job Responsibilities: The Senior Policy/Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor is responsible for policy analysis and technical support for the implementation of the EAP’s monitoring and evaluation framework. The Senior Policy/Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor would be required to plan, implement and participate in advocacy and policy dialogue activities and workshops as guided by the overall programme. Responsibilities would include the development and dissemination of advocacy tools and materials, where appropriate. Work Experience: Persons with work experience in health or HIV/AIDS policy and advocacy are encouraged to apply. Experience of advocacy and policy dialogue activities and workshops and monitoring and evaluation programmes is desirable. Qualifications: Post graduate degree in social work, social sciences, public health, community medicine AND/OR an advanced degree in public policy or any related discipline. Preferred Competencies: • Strong policy advocacy-related skills • Ability to develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plan • Proficiency in writing and preparing reports Position: ADVOCACY TRAINING OFFICER Broad Job Responsibilities: The Advocacy Training Officer is responsible for the oversight and implementation of advocacy training at national and state level, and would be required to take a lead in the development and implementation of training activities carried out directly by the EAP. Work Experience: Experience as a trainer, especially in the field of health (HIV/AIDS), development or education is desirable. Involvement with training activities and workshops, materials development; experience with evaluation of training activities. Qualifications: Post graduate degree in social work, social sciences, public health, community medicine AND/OR an advanced degree in human resource management, B.Ed./M.Ed. or LLB. Preferred Competencies: • Skilled trainer with preferred experience of public health advocacy training • Skills for development and adaptation of training curricula • Technical expertise to support project partners in developing, implementing, and evaluating their own advocacy- and policy-related training activities Position: JUNIOR PROGRAMME OFFICER Broad Job Responsibilities: The Junior Programme Officer is expected to support the Advocacy Training Officer by participating in the planning and implementation of training programmes and serving as a liaison for GIPA activities for the EAP. Preferred Competencies: Persons who feel motivated to work for HIV/AIDS advocacy are encouraged to apply. The lack of a formal education will not be a hindrance. Basic literacy may be an asset. Position: POLICE AND UNIFORMED SERVICES OFFICER Broad Job Responsibilities: The Police and Uniformed Services Officer is responsible for the oversight and implementation of project activities for police and uniformed services under the EAP’s national and state-level advocacy activities. The Police and Uniformed Services Officer would work in close collaboration with NACO, UNAIDS and other appropriate institutions to identify and implement advocacy objectives and strategies with the police and uniformed services. Work Experience: Qualified officers from the police and uniformed services are encouraged to apply. Experience in working with these services in relation to their advocacy needs for public health and HIV/AIDS, or rights-based issues is desirable. Qualifications: Service-based qualifications on par with a Masters degree would be desirable AND/OR Masters degree in any related discipline. Preferred Competencies: • Strong networking and advocacy skills as required by the specialized sector of the police and uniformed services • In-depth knowledge of the advocacy-based needs from the perspective of the police and uniformed services Position: ECONOMICS/FINANCE OFFICER Broad Job Responsibilities: The Economics/Finance Officer is expected to provide support to the Senior Economist on a programme of work related to resource allocation in the area of HIV/AIDS. Work Experience: Experience in the area of collation, research and analysis of field data and compilation of the same into reports and briefs is desirable. Qualifications: Post graduate degree in economics, finance, accounting, health economics or any related discipline.
