Guest guest
Isn't it funny how kids are? You want them to do something desperately because their friends can - so you try to accomplish it another way. Kid perceives you don't want it. Kid starts to put every effort in their being into doing what *they think* that *you* don't want them to do and ACCOMPLISH IT!!!! Don't know if there is a moral here -- but let anyone tell *me* I can't do something and it is green light for the " I'll show *them* " to kick in big time! Lori - Alycia may still need the keyboarding for some things so your efforts with her on the keyboard will not be lost. Good for Alycia. Small wonder you are proud! Jean Lori wrote: In case you don't remember, about 6 months ago I was fretting that she couldn't write and that she was crying about not being able to write like her friends. I had been devoting my time to teaching her keyboarding because I figured she wouldn't have the fine motor control to write. That determined little bugger just started practicing every chance she could get and kept it up until she achieved her goal...writing by hand! She gets it in her head that she wants to do something and she keeps plugging until she does it. I am so proud of her!
