United Nations Dr Piot, will be visiting India from 17 to 24

During his visit, Dr Piot will interact with stakeholders with a

view to strengthening the response to HIV and AIDS in the country.

Due to the epidemic situation in the North East of India, Dr. Piot

HIV prevention programmes. One of the main highlights of his visit

November as well as the launch of a joint UN programme for the North

East funded by the Australian government.

support an expanded response to HIV and AIDS that includes

preventing transmission of HIV, providing care and support to those

already living with the virus, reducing the vulnerability of
