Guest guest Posted December 13, 2005 Report Share Posted December 13, 2005 Aids society launches website [ Tuesday, December 13, 2005 02:33:47 am TIMES NEWS NETWORK ] PATNA: With the number of full-blown cases of Aids in Bihar reaching 1,138 and that of HIV+ cases 7,022, the Bihar State Aids Control Society (BSACS) on Monday launched its website — www.bsacs.org — for offering information to people about the dreaded diseases. BSACS project director K K Pathak launched the website which offers valuable information about the daily reporting units comprising 63 Voluntary Counselling and Testing Centres, 42 blood banks, 44 Prevention of Parent-to-Child Transmission Centres, 15 NGOs and 48 STD centres. All these centres are spread over the 38 districts of the state and the status of all these segments is upgraded everyday, Pathak told newsmen. According to joint director, information, education and communication, of BSACS, Vishal Singh, about 1.16 lakh people were tested for HIV in a recently launched mobile awareness and testing campaign christened " Yuva Jeevan Hai Anmol " . The campaign focussed on group counselling and awareness among adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years in the 38 districts of the state.
