Guest guest
Good Morning! I looked up from my chair and watched a fat man walk into NA last night. Damn, I said to myself, now comes Jim K. himself ! Who's next, Art Bell ! He sat down and opened the meeting with an intro that included, of course, the usual statement holding NA and its steps and principles in the highest of esteem. Then, went on to talk about his acquaintence with Jim k. in CA where he held a high position with NA for many years. He said that he "quit" AA because of the drug issue that involved AAs reluctance to agree with him that alcohol is a drug. He cited individuals that were smoking pot. While not considering pot like alcohol, they thought it was O.K. to smoke the stuff and would come to meetings loaded. As he went on and on about the usual bragging and program heiling, I was watching the younger people watching him like he was a god sent guru. How interesting yet nauseating it was to watch as he mentioned god in every other sentence and disease disease disease!. When he was finished, I questioned him during the meeting about Jim K. and if he was the same man that the held in such high reverence. I said the man has a web site called churchofgodanonymouspissonit and he sharply said NO as if he was NOW trying to disassociate the god he was talking about earlier with the program. We all know that it is a spiritual program not a religious on now don't we. It was obvious to me that this individual was pathetic and frankly a very poor example of what being "clean" can do for a person. Another wana be psychologist from HELL! The usual closing of the meeting included an outside cigarette and more mush bla bla bla bla bla bla (I cannot understand how they can claim years of "clean time" and then light up a cigarette). I walked home briskly, had dinner, went to bed. WOW!! Apple and Joe, thanks for the info.

Hi - " Jimmy K " in NA lore was the man who is considered to be the founder of NA. He died some years ago. Joe Berenbaum
