While I know that he and other myomectomy docs simply prefer to remove the tumors rather than leave them behind, Dr. West has not been one of the doctors who responded negatively to my questions about UAE. In fact, in a soon to be published book called " Uninformed Consent " by Lise Cloutier-Steele, Dr. West provided the foreword -- with the full knowledge that the only chapter in the book that talks about alternative choices to hysterectomy is my own. And that chapter speaks quite positively to UAE. He voiced no objections whatsoever to any of the content in my chapter and indicated to Lise that he supported the content in the book.
