Guest guest
Dear friends and Dr. Tejaswi, Thanks for enlightening this case and same is the plight of most of the people in our society. Many of so called educated people also have similar misunderstanding about spread of HIV. I remember when we took Radha in 2004 initiating our hospice for children with HIV (details on www.gwalior.hospital.care4free.net) we had similar problems. Half of the patients left hospital and many of our colleagues relatives and staff members objected for her eating or playing with other children or adults and so on. Gradually things have changed and now she is accepted as part of our family living like any other normal child undergoing education and ARV treatment. But still we do not get any body to care for her as nanny. We have tried to get other HIV positive children and adults too, but no body wants to come forward for obvious reasons esp. for fear of being considered as outcast. That in turn proves to be more dangerous for the society in general creating more HIV positive children and adults. We will be happy to accept any children and adults positive with HIV to live with us as a family and shall arrange for their education and treatment too as desired. If you think this family will be willing to come to us, they are most welcome. Please pass on this message to every one whoso ever can help or need help in such circumstances. Congratulations for such good work and keep it up, with regards, Dr.B.K.Sharma, Gwalior Childrens Hospital Charity, 14,Magdalene Road, Walsall,West Midlands.
