Guest guest
Well , just so long as you get it on the right end. I have to tell you that I am so pleased that it is you rather than me who is dealing with the Southern Express. I have four biological children and therefore have had considerable experience with the output of the input. We have adopted four children who were less than 6 months old and I gained even more experience. Way back in the " good old days " there were not such things as disposable diapers. It was the scrape out, rinse off and put in diaper pail era. We were in college when the first one hit so it was also the trip to the laundrymat routine as well. Grim... AT one point in time it was the bicycle to the laundrymat era and that was even more miserable. When it was cold at least the odor of the baggage on the way to the laundry was not so pronounced. I remember the first tries at disposible diapers, what a miserable mess. They were more like Kleenex than anything. When the diaper got wet it just sorta dissolved, just like facial tissue does. Be glad you are living today, it is so much better. I frankly can not recall having diaper wipes way back then. Okay , help me out here cause I know you are at least as chronologically advanced as I am. , God bless you my friend. May He keep you and your family sfe and may He give you all of the resources you may require. Cy, the Ancient One & Grady... Re: baby is here! LOL I put one on backwards this morning *blush*. Guest guest
You're right Cy. I remember carrying a full pail of rinsed out, but soaking wet diabpers to the basement (we lived on teh second flor) and washing and rinseing about 3 times each load of diapers. the first disposable diapers I used not only dissolved when wet, but gave the baby such a terrible rash, I could only use them in an emergency. they did not come with the plastic on the outside like the ones of tday do and they did not come in differant sizes, so they were huge on the new babies. I did get diaper service for a while, but it was too expensive-and you sill had those nasty diapers sitting around in a pail. Much better today. Re: baby is here! Guest guest
Yes, it is so great when they start to sleep all night - or at least 5-6 hours in a row; but that is probably a few months away yet, . OH, well, at least you can check your blood sugar in the middle of the night! Re: baby is here! HI Jerry. Matt, I call him Matty, is doing well. Nursing like a champ. His 2 year old brother Nick loves him and has adjusted well. Yesterday, Nick laid down next to matt and leaned over and kissed him and offered him some of his banana smiles. Matt and mommy are doing lots of off/on sleeping, along with me, and we are slowly getting some strength back heh.
