I am also interesting in generic vs. name brand drugs. My pharmacy recently

refilled my Cardizem 180mg Rx with the generic, diltiazem, which I do not feel

is as effective as the name brand. When I asked the pharmacist, he said, 'the

only difference is in your head. " Hmm. I'm not sure I believe that. Sandy,

PRILOSEC v generics?

my regular prescription of LOSEC (PRILOSEC in US) had

been switched over to generic omeprazole by the pharmacist a couple

of months ago. It's quite a bit cheaper apparently so the NHS

encouraged GPs to go for the cheap option.

I'm continuing to have stomach problems (I have a hiatus hernia)

which the losec had dealt with very effectively. I know there is a

direct link between my likelihood of episodes and stomach

inflammation, but could there really be any difference between the

original brand (made by AstraZeneca) and the generics?

Or am I just completely nuts?

If anyone else has had similar experiences switching from original

patents to generics, I'd like to hear from you.
