Guest guest
I have been on Dofetilide/Tikosyn for over two (2) years. At the time I began Dofetilide Therapy in the hospital, my EP was more than adamant when he adised me that I was to take absolutely *nothing* without checking with him. My pharmacist, although he cannot dispense Dofetilide, has all the Dofetilide/Tikosyn information on his computer and he has me registered as a Dofetilide user. I was also given a video tape about Dofetilide - which states in no uncertain terms, not to take anything at all without checking with the physician. Recently I was diagnosed with the H-Pyloric Bacteria and starting with the physician who prescribed the antibiotic, then through my EP, then to the Phizer Pharmacist and down on to the pharmacy who would be providing the antibiotic - I was given the go ahead signal. It gave me such peace of mind to know that all these people were checking this antibiotic out to be certain that it was alright for me to take - (reading from the prescription bottle - AMOX TR-K- CLV 500). My Pharmacist, although he spoke to my EP, actually took it upon himself to double check with Phizer himself. My point here is that all Dofetilide patients should be aware that they must check out *everything* (even over the counter stuff) before taking anything. I also had a Colonoscopy a year ago - and we went through the same proceedure as above. Unfortunately, I can recall the name of the slop I had to drink. Sometime back someone, either myself or Codling, posted reactions, etc. pertaining to Dofetilide. I'll check our Archives and get back to you on this - or maybe we can hear from . Ellen NSR on Dofetilide/Tikosyn ************************* --- In AFIBsupport , " ccb1115518 <ccb711@h...> " (snip) talking to CVS pharmacist about drug interactions with Tikosyn. Seems they have a lot more info than we have on what drugs to avoid. (snip) *************************
Guest guest
> I'd seen discussions about reactions to antibiotics and other drugs. > Antibiotics NOT recommended: > - neuroxin, levoquin, cipro (cipro is the least harmful of that > family and I've taken it with no problems) I had a real problem with cipro. After a couple of days it put me into 2-3 days of multiple pvcs a minute, which stopped a day or so after I stopped taking the cipro. I've never before or since had something last for that length of time, and never had pvcs to anything like that extent, so I am 99% sure it was the cipro.
