Guest guest
Thanks for the replies to my dilema. Here are answers to your questions. Connor has been on Depakote for about 3 years. His most recent Depakote level was not even in theraputic range, it was around 50. I would love to know more about Digestive Enzymes by Natures Sunshine and how they work. I did ask our Neuro once about PH and measuring it and he said that Connor's bloodwork showed his PH to be fine. Does this sound right? I also agree with the person who thought Connor's keytones dropping in the afternoon were likely the amount of fluid he has had. One of the biggest questions I have is " What is the protocol when a child grows in height? " , and also " What if they grow in height and then gain weight? " This is what Connor did. The neuro's solution was to cut calories but it only made things worse. Connor is a pretty skinny kid. Any other suggestions are much appreciated. Guest guest
, Tyler was a very skinny kid too, and one of s Hopkins' goals on the diet was to get him in the average range -- so they wanted him to gain weight and grow in height - but cautioned we must do it gradually or it can throw off the diet. Luckily they did it very gradually and we've not had one problem. Whenever Tyler starts getting hungry in between meals and it's consistent, I figure his body's gone through another growth spurt and I let them know, and they will usually adjust by adding a small amount of calories spread out over his snacks or meals. Tyler was on Depakote briefly, but it didn't do anything for him so we stopped once he was up to 9 capsules a day! It sounds like to me the calories need to be adjusted up if he's hungry - at least that's been our experience with Tyler. Hope this helps...
