Guest guest
When I asked my doctor about taking SAM-e for joint pain, she also mentioned that she's had a fair amount of success in using the glucosamine and chondroitin for people who have joint pain. She seems to feel that her patients get the best results when they use it for knee pain. I've stayed with SAM-e since my LFTs have improved (coincidentally). Like any new supplement or medication -- CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR. Penny skipper wrote: > Has anyone heard of Glucosamine & Chondroitin Sulfate. Guest guest
Leona, I can't take anti-inflammatory meds. either but it is my understanding that the glucosamine is for osteoarthritis and will not help other types. Some of the professionals might tell you different but I am pretty sure that is right. Martha

Guest guest
Rice Dream/8 oz has 120 calories, 2.5 gm fat and 1 gm protein...not a great supplement if your goal is increased protein and calories. Check the ingredients of instant breakfast powders, you could make a shake. I prefer the taste of Almond Milk. Great for baking and making frozen desserts. Can the person tolerate lactose free milk? Commercial supplements like ENLIVE are soy and lactose free. It is available in apple and peach flavors. The nutritional composition is similar to Boost and Ensure. Would Rice-Dream be a good choice? Thanks for your help. -- Jane Korsberg, MS,RD,LD
