Guest guest
Since it isn't sore that would most likely rule out advanced case of thrush. Is oral care good? Any antibiotics lately? White tongue can occur (harmless) when oral care is sub-optimal. Plus it comes and goes so I would lean towards harmless but there are other causes. A Dr. and/or dentist could give an oral exam if either appt. is coming up. On Thu, Jan 6, 2011 at 2:15 PM, Mazarin wrote: > > > Not sore. Whiteish covering. Guest guest
White coated tongue first thing in the morning? Could very well be candida...... have you had the patient fill out a candida questionnaire?   Candida can be addressed with diet and supplements or through diet + a physician that will prescribe an antifungal like Diflucan or Nystatin........  Dr. Hotze MD has a free e-book on Candida on his website  http://drhotze.metacanvas.com/EN/free_ebooks/411.html     > > > > > Any explanations or suggestions for a coated tongue? > > Mazarin, MS, RD, CNS > >
Guest guest
Coated tongue will vary in appearance/thicknees during candida. Oral Nystatin three times a day helped me quicker then when I've worked on flair ups with diet control alone (was on antibiotics for a year). It is also important to educate on resisting the carb cravings. Chronic yeast really can send you sugar cravings and the day after a bigger simple carb intake would leave me with more symptoms - yeast thrives on acidic diet high in simple carbs/refined grains.
