A food/symptom diary may reveal the source, or possibly he's dealing also with Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). Also, just as an fyi, eggplant belongs in the solanine family with potato, tomato and peppers. Cabbage and cauliflower are not related to eggplant, but are in the mustard family along with mustard, canola, kale, etc and yes, may be gas forming for " some " people. He should pay attention to what makes him " gassy " .maybe some level of lactose intolerance, the obvious legumes, and recently I learned that salt could cause flatulence as well....some ppl will complain about flatulence after citrusy fruits, some with eggplants and their " relatives " , cauliflower/maybe soHow is his BM? if he is constipated or abusing laxatives, that could be contributing as well.Some medication could and especially these days with meds like Elli OTC.....Hope that helps... A food/symptom diary may reveal the source, or possibly he's dealing also with Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).Also, just as an fyi, eggplant belongs in the solanine family with potato, tomato and peppers. Cabbage and cauliflower are not related to eggplant, but are in the mustard family along with mustard, canola, kale, etc and yes, may be gas forming for " some " people.
