In addition to Merav's recommendations. . .

" Just " flatulence may be a sign of celiac disease as well. A food/symptom

diary may reveal the source, or possibly he's dealing also with Small Intestinal

Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).

Also, just as an fyi, eggplant belongs in the solanine family with potato,

tomato and peppers. Cabbage and cauliflower are not related to eggplant, but

are in the mustard family along with mustard, canola, kale, etc and yes, may be

gas forming for " some " people. (Personally, they never cause me a problem.)

Also, is he a soda drinker? Get off all soda.

maybe some level of lactose intolerance, the obvious legumes, and recently I

learned that salt could cause flatulence as well....some ppl will complain

about flatulence after citrusy fruits, some with eggplants and their

How is his BM? if he is constipated or abusing laxatives, that could be

Well, to correct myself further . . . actually, it's not a " solanine "

family, but " nightshade " family that contains the solanine! ;-)

It is very individualized. He should pay attention to what makes him " gassy " .

maybe some level of lactose intolerance, the obvious legumes, and recently I

learned that salt could cause flatulence as well....some ppl will complain about

flatulence after citrusy fruits, some with eggplants and their " relatives " ,

cauliflower/cabbage.

How is his BM? if he is constipated or abusing laxatives, that could be

contributing as well. Some medication could and especially these days with meds

like Elli OTC.....

Hope that helps...

recommendations. . . " Just " flatulence may be a sign of celiac disease as well. A

food/symptom diary may reveal the source, or possibly he's dealing also with

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).Also, just as an fyi, eggplant

belongs in the solanine family with potato, tomato and peppers. Cabbage and

cauliflower are not related to eggplant, but are in the mustard family along

with mustard, canola, kale, etc and yes, may be gas forming for " some " people.

odiferous flatulence and no complaints of bloating, cramping, or any other
