I started taking amitriptyline a little less than 1 month ago, started at

10mg for 2wks and then 20 mg. I haven't noticed any difference, after the

first day of taking it I didn't have any pain and I was so excited even

thought I knew it takes longer than that to start working, and then of

course, it didn't last long untill the burning started back up late that

night.

So to answer your question , I don't know, I think its different for

everyone, some people it doesn't help at all and for some it does and at

different dosages.

Sheri--You said it took 1 month at 75 mg to become painfree. How long did it

take for your to work up to 75 mg.?

My gynocologist prescribed it b/c I asked for it, but he doesn't know much

about vulvodynia and taking this med for it. Would it be ok for me to go

ahead and up the dosage from 20 to 30mg. I haven't had any side effects

except some fatigue in morning. Do I need to call dr first, I just thought I

could go ahead and increase it, since he doesn't know much about it anyway.

What do yall think?
