Andy's protocol on DMPS dosage and frequency can be found at:

/files/Andy_dose_sched

DMPS (alone): 1/4 to 1 mg of DMPS per pound of body weight, per dose

(every 8 hours)

Hard to know without knowing the dosage. If the dosage is really high, then

it could release too many metals at once and over-tax the liver and kidneys

in a weak person. Alot of people handle 200-250mg injected with no problem

but if you're just starting out, a lower dosage would probably be safer.

Since you're doing oral, if your doc is willing to spread the dosage over a

few days, it might be easier on your child.

If you are giving DMPS longer than every eight hours

then it is a harmful protocol. The half life of DMPS

is eight hours. You can also give it every four hours

by giving smaller doses or every three hours with ALA.

I'l try and find out what the dose is tuesday.

We did 8 mos ALA only about 30mg every 2.5 hrs. Then for the

last 9 mos we have done ALA 25mg/DMSA 50mg every 2.5 hrs....

however it seems like since starting the combo something is

always happening to not let us chelate. Colds, flu, being out of

town , so on and so forth! The latest is a combo of clostridial,

yeast and citobactor, no lactobacillus.

We went off toueff and everything else for 2 weeks while out of

town.... major regression! she is coming back but slowly, Actualy

other than the yeast ect issues her urine organix looks pretty

darn good! We decieded to check everything while she was off.

Anyhow, we were tossing around the idea of trying to clean up

anything floating around in her body. Something we have never

done alone.

thanks everyone for the idea's

Could I request that when we post dosages, we also

include the weight of the child? The information

below is not too helpful without knowing if the child

is 30 pounds, or 100 pounds, or ???

Thanks,

Max

Thanks, Laurie.

My son is 40 pounds and we've been giving him 50mg

DMSA every 4 hours on a 3/4 schedule. We hope to add

ALA soon and I'm thinking of trying it at 25mg with

50mg DMSA every 3 hours (4 at night), continuing on a

3/4 schedule. This would be similar to the dose you

are using.

No problem Max,

Though I think I would back it up abit and start at 25mg DMSA

and 12.5 ALA. I should have said we worked up to those doses.

(with Andy's Blessings)

We actualy dose every 2.5 hours during the day and 4 hours at

night. We found that at about 2hrs 45 min Grace becomes

uncomfortable, agitated, crying ect so with Andy's help changed

the dose to 2.5 hrs, our chelation rounds are now most days very

comfortable.

To those of you who where concerned that we are doing it

backwards.... Yes we are! We started without a Dr using the ALA

only in january 2001, added in the Dr about July 2001, added the

DMSA in Aug or Sept.

We have been here on this list for about 20 mos,

I used to be chinamom if there is anyone wanting to read what I

have written about ALA only in the archieves. We saw some

wonderful gains but felt we needed to go to the next step.
