When typing the word " dietitian " in a Word doc it actually spellchecks and corrects it to " dietician " . If you've used word on your computer don't try it because once it happened the first time I'm sure you added the correct spelling to your dictionary so it won't flag again. Anyway...they are BOTH correct spellings, IF you are just using the word dietitian. However if referring to the RD credential...it very specifically (and properly) is spelled with a " t " . Once I realized that I quit getting so hung up about it. But anyone know Bill Gates? :-) I think until Word gets corrected it will always be a problem. It might already have been for all I know. Is the dietician spelling British or something? Anyway I agree with all the discussion here. Have you heard " the fat lady in the kitchen " as a description of us... I was thinking it was time for us to rename ourselves. Diploma Nurses get a BS on line and call themselves Nurse Clinicians and get a raise.....and the praise... You know what we get..... !!!!!!!!!! Hey Dietary....., Call Dietary.....etc meaning us... ADA needs to rename us so we can get some respect... Any ideas here. We are more like practitioners and many of us have master's with internships.... In a message dated 2/19/2011 8:29:39 P.M.
