Guest guest
> : Sometimes when we go on any diet....gout or pseudo-gout can occur. The cause of this is a reaction of our body to the dieting and to the purines we eat, in plain English, dieting makes our body acid. When we go on a diet, the level of uric acid goes up as a defense and if high purine foods are eaten without paying attention to neutralizing them or teaming them up with foods that are low in purines like apples, small amounts of melons, etc. High purine foods are: spinach, mushrooms, asparagus,Oats, sardines, anchovies, meat, organ meats etc--- and then we may also be dehydrated as well, which e may exarcerbate the inflammatory process...thus we have more pain. Also when dieting sometimes we may need electrolyte replacement, (because we both take in and eliminate lots of fluids) which can be bought at a pharmacy or made at home....Recipes can be found on the web...Research three of four sources before making up a batch..because there are some inaccuracies on some of these sites. It consists of sodium, water, baking soda (not baking powder)and sometimes orange juice or sugar in a specific ratio....I always dilute it after I make up a batch because I find it too salty etc. >snip..... .. Make yourself more alkaline by avoiding high purine foods and make sure that you reduce the amount of high acid (prunes, plums, cranberries, blueberries) and high purine foods(listed above). Soak the part that is hurting in epsom salts and tepid water or compresses made with water and e.s....They don't know how it works....but it is thought that the body is always in need of magnesium and it relaxes the muscles etc. Hope this helps, Regards, Isabelle Tendonitis has been lingering without any real improvement - longer than ever experienced before. > Wonder whether that is connected to dairy free?? snip..... Guest guest
Hi Isabelle, The only change I made in my diet has been stripping it of all dairy. My tendinites started in my right hand and traveled up the arm. The side that I now want to sleep on. One of the recommendations was hot and cold compresses, and a warm soak as you mentioned. I will try the epsom salt that could help in the healing process. Thanks for trying to help. /

My tendinites started in my right hand and traveled up the arm. The side that I now want to sleep on. snip..................... :There is a treatment that Dr. Eaton posted after I posed the question about swelling, usually for muscles and other parts of the body....Tap with a finger for a minute or two on the affected areas. (the website where you can find a description of the exercise is on Hand Anatomy by Dr. Eaton). About four years ago, I was 5 weeks post-op hand surgery, in pain because of swelling that had not subsided.... and 20 hours after I started the tapping, the swelling was gone...I did that for about a year and it did take away swelling and pain any time that I did have a recurrence, especially during the night. I would do the exercise two three times a day and when necessary during the night....I always went back to sleep within a few minutes. Magic I thought....that's why I think that Dr. Eaton and his staff are the best. You may email him...and if the question is of general interest..he answers you on his website, but not personally. Thanks for thanking me..........Tapping appears to regenerate nerve endings according to Dr. Eaton. Isabelle
