Guest guest
Hi Did you start slowly? Magnesium can cause loose stools, and my son gets them with taurine. If it continues to be a problem, I'd reduce them all, build up to the doses slowly and spread them out over 4 doses a day., instead of 2 HTH Mandi > Andy and others - I have begun my son on higher dosages of Vitamin C and > others in the MT Primer. Guest guest
Andy and others - I have begun my son on higher dosages of Vitamin C and others in the MT Primer. His daily doses of each are: Vit C: 1000 mg Vit E: 400 IU Vit B6: 38 mg Magnesium: 250 mg Zinc: 80 mg Taurine: 400 mg The amounts are split and given twice daily. Although only on it a week, he has developed quite loose stools, one time per day, and unable to make it to the bathroom sometimes. I am assuming it may be the higher dose of Vitamin C, but perhaps it could be something else. Does the body get use to these higher dosages eventually or should something be adjusted? Thanks! He is 5 and weighs 55 pounds.
Guest guest
Hi, large doses of Vit. C can definitely cause loose stools. We're actually doing a Vitamin C " ascorbic acid " Flush with my son to clear out impacted stool. You should decrease the amount of VitC you're giving until the stools firm up. Guest guest
I would suggest stopping Vitamin C altogether. Vitamin C makes the gastrointestinal track acidic and excess Iron is absorbed. Also reduce other acidic food and allergic foods. B6 and Mag are good though I think you are giving too much. Just a friendly advice.
