On January 26-27, the Organization for Autism Research (OAR) will

have its second RUN FOR AUTISM team in the ING Miami Marathon, Half

Marathon and 5K races. Following its great start in Miami last

January, the RUN FOR AUTISM went on to raise over $550,000 in 2007.

OAR's goals for 2008 are 1,000 runners - $1 million. There's still

time to join the team in Miami and be part of the fun. Special

thanks to Rod and Lauredo from Miami for again leading the RUN

FOR AUTISM – Miami effort.

Why? OAR-sponsored studies are needed to find answers and provide

practical solutions for those with autism today.

Raise money for autism research - What you raise will directly fund

research studies that help answer some of autism's most pressing

questions. OAR awarded more than $400,000 in new research grants

beginning January 1. If you want to see the research that OAR funds,

visit: http://www.researchautism.org/professionals/funded/index.asp.

Whether you are a serious runner, a jogger, walker, donor or

volunteer, you can be part of OAR's RUN FOR AUTISM team, and your

effort will make a difference in the lives of thousands of families

living with autism.

FUNDRAISING: The RUN FOR AUTISM revolves around three objectives: a

personal fitness goal, increasing autism awareness, and raising money

for autism research. OAR's runners accomplish all three. For

Miami and most races, OAR allows the runners to " Set Your Own Goal. "

There is not has no minimum fundraising requirement. Runners who

raise over $2,500 or more receive special recognition.

TEAM MEMBER BENEFITS: OAR's program supports runners at all levels

that want to achieve personal fitness goals and make their efforts

count for something more by raising funds for autism. OAR makes it

easy and fun. Each OAR runner receives:

RUN FOR AUTISM race shirt and t-shirt

Runner's Guide with training and fundraising information

A personal fundraising web page

Runners' E-newsletter

The boost of RUN FOR AUTISM team camaraderie on race day
