Jokes,etc

Crew,

We have had this issue come up several times. People get upset when the

list becomes only jokes or one thread goes on and on and on, but I don't know

of anyone who would say not to post any jokes. Some of us would just request

that anything off-color be kept off of this list. It was my understanding

that this was the reason the social list started. There are so many other

places to go if you want to share those kind of jokes.

I have a 15 year old daughter who reads faster than I do and reads Crew

mail over my shoulder at times. She really doesn't need to see crude jokes

or cartoons. I can ignore them, but if she's reading over my shoulder she

may read it before realizing what she has started. I know she can't be

protected from this stuff forever, but I hate to destroy my children's

innocence any earlier than necessary. I'm on digest so the described cartoon

didn't come across to me, but I would have found it offensive and would have

really been unhappy if my daughter had seen it. A note in the subject line

wouldn't have worked for the cartoon if it had come through digest.

The bottom line here, I think, is respect for each other's sensitivities.

I'm shutting up now.
