Guest guest
Hi all, I had heavy blood clots a year ago with my period. Some of them were big though not quite that big! the strange thing is, after my laparascopy to check everything out, the blood clots stopped. i asked the doctor thinking he might have removed a small one hysteroscopically but no. he said he just did the biopsies and pictures. Any one else have this 'lapse' ? i'm still waitng for the clotting to reappear. Its been 8 months. The periods got lighter too. Well, lighter is a relative term, lighter in comparison to the usual gush. Also, is anyone having bad mood swings? These have been increasing lately and I'm wondering if they are related to the fibroids. Unfortuantely, i have a history of depression so I'm acutely sensitive to my emotions. But the last 2 months have been weird and reminiscent of mood swings I experienced on birth control pills. (won't touch them with a ten foot pole now. They actually put me into a constant state of hysteria.) I am in the middle of fighting my denials for insurance coverage (BC isn't covering UAE here...ugh!) and while that might make me a little bummed and angry these mood swings are way out of the norm range. The posts have been really great. I too wish the medical establishment would put some money and time into research. If fibroids really do affect 1 out of 3 women its obscene that so little has been done. I am eternally grateful to Dr. Ravina (UAE) in france for at least opening the doors in this area. If UAE hadn't come along and prompted interest who knows where we'd be. Sex drive: I haven't had much of one but it is also extremely painful so that may be why. (sorry this is graphic...) the only position i find comfortable is on my side with my loved behind. It is the only position that doesn't hurt. Even sitting on top hurts sometimes. But my lovely guy is very understanding and knows if I ask him to stop or change positions its not because i don't find him attractive or reject him, he knows its because it hurts. I haven' t slept on my stomach in years. Well, best wishes to all. Happy Spring.
