Guest guest
I was so glad to hear your mom made it without any additional difficulty. I am sure it will be comforting for you to have your husband and daughter with you for support. Our prayers are with you and I hope all goes well tomorrow for your mom. I also pray you will stay strong and healthy through all this. It doesn't seem like you have had a break in awhile. Well just remember God's timing is perfect even though it doesn't seem like it sometimes. Joanne (Todd's mom)
Guest guest
I apologize for not remembering who sent me the info. but my brain is very clogged right now. Soooo much to remember and take care of. Hi , I'm so glad your Mum made it smoothly to St Louis. Looks like they are taking good care of her. I'm sure that once they have treated all the problems she will be much better. Now you must take care of yourself. Besides being ill you have had a severely stressful week and you need to rest as much as you can or you'll end up in hospital to. Love and prayers Barbara (UK)

Guest guest
... I know this is all very hard on you...I have been there myself as many of us have...all the advice I can give you is to say everything you need to to her....bring back good memories of the past...and always make sure that you say I love you... When my dad pasted back in 87....I knew that I had done everything I could have...and also knew that he knew how I felt about him and visa versa.... Hopefully they will be able to make your mom as comfortable as possible... and take care of yourself...this is really important...you won't be much good to anyone if you get so run down that you can't function.... take care... prayers to both of you Luanne Ty's mom
Guest guest
Barbara, I am taking the day 'off' today. I sent my daughter and one of my foster daughters down to see her today so she wouldn't get lonely. I am trying to get her room ready and take care of some legal things, and of course enjoy some down time. Tomorrow they are doing the banding and colon., they couldn't fit her into the schedule today. It's not scheduled until 3:00 tomorrow so I don't have to get up with the sun, and that will help. Thanks for thinking of me and reminding me to care for myself, I often NEED that reminder. Hugs,

Guest guest
, I'm glad that your Mom is finally being treated properly. I am so sorry that she can't have a transplant but with all her health conditions it probably wouldn't be in her best interest. I hope they can find things to prolong her life and make her comfortable. I also pray that she'll get to a point that she can do some fun living and spend precious time with you and your family. I also pray for you and your health as well as the rest of your whole family. Having an emotional breakdown at this point is not surprising and don't get down on yourself for this. I find somethings getting the bad stuff out helps us to get stronger so we can go on. I've been told that there is no official cut off age (at Strong), but that general health factors weigh heavily in determining whether an older patient is transplanted. Hopefully we will know more then. By the way...I don't remember > who sent the post with info about Zofran, but that is what they are giving > her for the nausea. And as you said, it is the only thing that has worked. I'm the Zofran kid. When I'm hurking my bunny slippers out of my mouth, it's the only thing that helps. It is a wonderful drug although VERY expensive. Mel, being both the caregiver and the patient is going to be very hard on you. Please try to get some good rest and some face to face support too. Guest guest
<I want her to remember why she is fighting> ...you hit it on the most important thing after proper medical treatment...Staying focused on the will to live.... Decorating the hospital room with those things she holds dear will certainly keep her focused on that fight. I know when I had my colon surgery, I deliberately took a picture of my husband, my kids and my dog....because I knew at some point I would make it to the pity party, but I knew that I needed to stay focused on the reason I chose the sugery...those I love. It not only helped me stay focused, it helped me to stay positive, even when things were at their worst...at least that is what I remember from my journal...alot of it is fuzzy because of the meds. Mike is gone until the end of the weekend...up to get another hunting spot ready, so I am home, just putzing around...enjoying the quiet of not having to answer to MIL, nor anyone else. I made a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.....and now I am catching up and sorting out junk that I need to pitch...and since I hate that job, I pray for those that need it. Your family will be in my prayers. Oh the reason for the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies is because the only thing that kept me sane at MIL, is the crocheted lap blanket (formerly called Afghan), and it's color is/was an oatmeal color, reminded me of oatmeal cookies...and since I needed chocolate, I added those too. ===== in Michigan (Dx UC 1984, Dx MISSING COLON 1999, Dx PSC 1997, PSC symptoms 2000) __________________________________________________
